Hi all,

My sister has created a site for beach enthusiasts www.peacefulpirate.com . Can I get some honest feedback on first impressions, website design, t-shirt designs, etc? This is her first attempt at this kind of endeavor and I'd love to be able to help her out.....and yes I've requested she join this forum as well!

Thanks in advance,
Stan

You need to SIMPLIFY this A LOT. There is simply too much visual noise on the page right now distracting me from the shirts.

- First of all, I like the logo. You can keep that :)

- Make the navigation bar stand more out by giving it a solid background color. This will make the separation between content and header clear.

- Tone down the pink header colors in the sidebars. They are distracting.

- I don't know what to do with the Facebook widget, but the scrollbar is problematic. When I have my mouse in the left sidebar as I scroll down the page, the widget starts scrolling.

- There is A LOT of white on the page. Try to create more contrast. It could be by making the background grey and giving the content area a white background –*I don't know. What I do know, however, is that the current color scheme is not very pleasing –*all white with sprinkles of blue, red, pink, yellow.

I've been doing sales and marketing for about 30+ years and honestly I love the simplicity of it.

The white and pinks didn't bother me at all.

Beaches, sand, holiday, boats...anytime I have been south into the Islands, it seems the theme's are light and airy...lots of sea blues, pinks, whites..

I found it easy to navigate through it. Able to see the shirts fit on other women, people..

Actually wished I was standing on the beach too!

Only thing that I would do is bring the print closer into the frame - we all know what a tee looks like..I want to see if the print quality and what the art is something that is interesting to me.

Like the others have said, the designs are great. It's a good niche with lots of potential. They seem well thought out & there's tons of room for growth with them. Kudos on that.

But they're also right that the web page needs work. If it were me, I'd dump a lot of the clutter on the sides ( Top Sellers, the funky scroll bar on the left, etc.) Simplify the whole thing.

It feels very "fundamental" - like it was set up from a standard template. There's no real flair, or sense of brand. If your sister can afford it, have new pics taken, at a higher resolution so a banner could be made of nice closeups. Also, look at other T-shirt sites - there's plenty of inspiration out there for us burgeoning T-shirt moguls!

I'm gonna bookmark the site - because I might have to buy one or two of those shirts!!!
