I plan on upgrading to a 4-4 with micro soon. Just taking it 1 step at a time. I really want to do cover all designs (full shirt), so I will be trying to upgrade my december.
oh wouldn't it haven been better to just waited?

I agree about waiting. I had to get it though. Yes we have spoken before. You have a good memory. I hope that all is good with you.
I started with a 1-color tabletop press and flash from Ryonet, Then upgraded to a 4/2 table top and built an exposure unit.

Then...someone GAVE me an old 6/4 Hopkins press which I restored. I just bought the Hopkins 'Low Rider' conveyor dryer (which is awesome) to go along with everything and I'm crankin' out tees like a madman now! Garage setups are where it's at.

Just remeber your screen size for an all over print is big and will probably limit you to a 2 color design. I have an 8 /4 press and can only do 4 color all over prints due to screen size. I started on the Ryonet 4/2 tabletop and quickly(3months) abandoned that due to poor registration and loss of registration during production issues. was going to do the Hopkins 6/4 but decided to spend the little extra for the 8/4. Best decision I have made so far when it comes to equipment.

Anyway enjoy your presses and good luck with the biz!

Sweet, I will be getting mines in the near future. It it very profitable for you now? Where do you find the best palce is for getting blank shirts?
It is becoming more and more profitable by the day. I get blanks either locally (to save on shipping) or from TSCapparel.com ...or go directly to American Apparel, Alternative etc. for their stuff.

Thanks, did it take you long to get the hang of using your press
Not really...I started working at a commercial print shop about a year ago. That was my first time to use a 'professional' press only having previous experience on a 4/2 table top. The larger press was much smoother and did everything I'd wished the tabletop would do...plus micro registration kicks booty. :)

That has to rock. A guy is selling his entire set up for $4500. Screenprinting equipment
I am really thinking about making the purchase. He lives about 45 minutes away. If you can, tell me what you think. Thanks
Looks pretty decent. Only problems I could see you running into are...

1- the 24" x 24" exp. unit could end up being limiting depending on the sizes of screens you plan on using (I regularly burn & print with 23" x 31" screens)

2- the black body 'lil buddy' dryer - I was looking into buying one of these myself but determined that it would have served my immediate needs, but I would probably have outgrown it within a year. however, he's only asking less than half of what they cost new.

...if possible see if you can get a hands on demo or something to see how everything is working. good luck!

With a four color press, you're (usually) limited to three colors if you're using dark garments. The minimum should really be 6 colors in my opinion.. That way you're not as limited.

Does that press have micros? If not, the value of this "deal" goes down significantly. Keep looking through craigslist and you can find some great deals.

I use crazedlist.org to search a lot of different craigslist cities @ once btw..

thanks. It does have micro, and that's the main reason I was interested. I would really like a 6 color though.
