So I did my first cut and it went better than expected. I was able to finish it but after it cut the simple design it made a large rectangular cut. I think it might of been cutting an outside border which would of been fine but the vinyl got hung on the front that made it stop feeding (I think) and then cut straight down the middle of the design. Plus on the word THE the vinyl pulled just a bit. Nothing major but enough to be a concern with the first cut. I had the pressure at 80 and the speed at 60 and on some parts of the cut it went through the vinyl and the backing and other parts went through just vinyl like it should. Here are a few pics to help explain. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Speed may have been to fast and caused the pulling up of the vinyl. Blade may be extended out too much thus cutting through the vinyl and backing.
It's a balancing act, use the test cut function on your plotter to dial in the blade and pressure settings.
What type of vinyl?
What cutter?
As for the odd box, could have been in the artwork to begin with, could have been a weed box as well. Best to always view your art work in wireframe mode to make sure there are no errant lines running around.

You need to lower your pressure. Make sure your blade is tight and sticks out just far enough to cut through the vinyl and nothing else. I don't have your kind of cutter so I don't know what else might have gone wrong. Make sure your vinyl is situated evenly over the rollers so that it moves smoothly and nothing interferes with it's movement. Static will also stick the vinyl and keep it from moving.

I did use the test cut and it looked fine. I wll do another small project and adjust the speed and pressure. Vinyl is Oracal 631 cutter is GCC Expert 24. The blade is hard to tell there are numbers on the "dial" and it is set at 6 but you can barely see the blade but will see about adjusting it for less. The vinyl didn't wiggle but when it was rolling the vinyl forward it seemed to get hung on the front lip and that is why I thought the rectangular cut may have been the weeding border if I understand correctly what that is. The cut was simple fonts so no images really used. I am not sure how to work the pinch rollers and where to set them.

Thanks for all the help. I did another cut and it went perfectly adjusted both the speed to 40 and dialed the blade to 2. I do have one other question. The pinch rollers I am not sure where they should be set. The image I did I wanted a large one as a test as far as size and cut and on the preview it showed having to cut off part of the image so I reduced the size to get it all in one run but after it was done there was more than enough room to have made it larger. (4 inches extra) I am guessing that it was based on where the pinch rollers are but I really have no idea.

Yes.

> Pinch rollers need to be underneath the white boxes
> Vinyl should be securely underneath the pinch rollers

Vinyl will sometime not roll perfect so make sure you leave enough on the sides of the pinch rollers for the vinyl to roll without leaving the pinch rollers. If you don't have a stand, leave enough slack behind the cutter for the vinyl to roll.

Eco-Film
Spectra Film
> both are lightweight and thinner so you need to make sure these types of vinyl are secure.
