My wiper stopped working and tech support ended up sending me a replacement maintenance station. They said it was easier to replace the whole maintenance station than the wiper mechanism. After I took the old maintenance station out I found that the base of the arm that connects to the wiper blade was broken. Not sure how it broke - tech support mentioned something to me about dried ink causing the wiper blade to break but we have no way of knowing for sure how mine broke.

Thanks Abhobden! 14 months later and your answer is still helping people! Our wiper has not been wiping and we just realized it. So I went on TSF to see if anyone could help. And the remedy you used for your wiper -- "giving it a friendly push before a clean" worked!!! Thank you! Got my best nozzle check in weeks!!!

yeh, same here. just bear in mind you should give it a push WHEN the wiper engine is working. It's just a friendly help, don't push it too hard or you might break it
