My HM1 does a head cleaning and when the carriage goes to the waste dump, the moving unit shuts off. If i shut the machine off, when i turn it back on, it does the same thing. I replaced the head cables, but that didn't fix it.
The motherboard is less than 3 months old.
Any suggestions??

Don.. just the moving head shut off. I have spoken with Bill at tech support and we have that problem solved...however it seems i need another motherboard because it goes thru the motions of printing and no ink comes out.

Yes i unplugged the usb and power cord before doing any work to the machine. The motherboard has been replaced a few times. SWF had a bad batch of boards that didn't work. They finally got me one that worked, but ihad a few funky thinhgs different about it, like I couldn't shut the head unit off without shutting the whole machine down, it didn't do automatic head cleanings anymore, I had to do them from the epson maintenance window.
But, it printed , and i was behind on jobs so i left well enough alone, and now this board seems to have gone out.

OK, so this begs the question- can we clone our own motherboard to fix an ailing HM-1 and Kiosk machines?

I know most of us grow tired of paying the piper over and over again, so I'm asking...

Does any of our forum know and has successfully performed the procedure to clone that board? I want to have a backup of both my machines boards on hand at all times. Can any of you spell it out EXACTLY how it's performed.

The last board I bought was programmed onsite by the Mesa rep, but I was unable to see the procedure as a customer called at that point and I had to take care of them.

All I want to do is copy my existing GOOD boards while they are STILL WORKING...

How about it, you experts!

PS I would also say change the fuse before going further to resolve your problem...

I'm have the exact same issue it shuts off by the spit tank side.

So is this the fuse? If so where and how much is the fuse? Can I get it out of another 2400 or is it a dtg part?

If its the mother board what's that going to cost me up buy a new board??

Please tell me it's just the fuse. Is it available at like RadioShack or something? I know epsons inside and out so tell me where and how and it's done. Thanks for any help!
