I have started using separation software for simulated process jobs and I bought myself a pantone book a few months back. The problem is my monitor displays my pantone colours way off the mark. I mean there not even close my reds are near purple and its making it difficult to adjust things. Does anyone know how to fix this is it a big job.

You need something like this to calibrate your monitor:

This only deals with your monitor, no other part of the process.

Get a cheap spider or something, monitor calibrators are pretty cheap since they don't need a light source.
