Stumbleupon is famous for its magnificently crappy traffic though.
Maybe so, but crappy traffic is better than no traffic – as long as you're not paying for it. :) I just checked my Google Analytics and 32% of the traffic I got yesterday was from Stumbleupon.

P.S. The bounce rate was 35% which isn't great but it's not bad either.

Stumbleupon funnels a lot of traffic to our sites too. It might not be the most targeted, but we don't have to pay for it, and all it takes is a quick click of a button to add a blog post or whatever to the Stumbleupon site. I wouldn't call it the magic bullet or anything, but it can't hurt.

usually this website brings tons of useless traffic.
Useless how? It's a free means to get people to see your website.
you need tergeted traffic for those kind of website and it can be reached mostly by organic traffic from google or nonorganic traffic from adword or some other service with the same principal.
When users create a SU account they choose what interests them and when they stumble it brings up related websites. I would consider that targeted.

Useless because they usually don't buy anything. I would take 10 quality visitors over 1,000 that could care less about my website.
