I just bought a slightly used Maxx hotronix, previous owner told me that it warms up like less than 5 mins & til you hear a beep sounds then its ready to use...is this normal? I havent tried the machine yet cos im too busy from work
yet but he is quiet sincere on that.

That is a small platen, about 5 minutes is not unrealistic to heat up.
And yes, the beep will mean it has reached the temp you set it to.
