Hi everyone,
I am just wondering how strong the market here in Australia for all things Rhinestone?
Anything from apparel, decals etc? I have just noticed that some Australian suppliers are now stocking a range of Rhinestones, so does that mean the the booming market from the US is still to hit here or am I right in thinking that it is a niche market such as dancing schools etc?
We, as a culture, are definitely less ostentatious. What do you all think?

Good to know Stephanie :) It's strange, hardly any bling in the high profile fashion stores BUT when I ask Boutiques in the Fashion renowned shopping strips they tell me that bling is their best sellers. There will always be a market for it but here in Australia bling with multimedia is definitely the go.

It's funny, I totally beleive you that they are the best sellers. Definately not for my brand, but while everyone (including me) might think they are tacky and their brand is above them, they do seem to sell well. Like I said 12 year old girls in supre are likely to buy them, and they probably have lots of mums money...

Might be time to consider if it could ever fit into my brand... haha.

You have mentioned a couple of times now how disgusted you are by rhinestones. I can assure you that not "everyone," as you state, thinks they are tacky. And the vast majority of my customers are moms and not their daughters or for spirit wear for schools and sports teams. I'm glad you're so successful with your brand but please try not to be so insulting to another part of the industry.

I agree with not insulting another mode of expression. example: I do not like any graphics that depict skulls, gore etc. as they depict a negative message. IMHO. I know that they are favoured by the young and that it is "in" but why honour the ugly side of life?

My 7 year old LOVES them and we get them personalised on a few of her gymnastic leotards and bike shorts but my 12 year old thinks they're hideous. They look good in HELLO KITTY designs ;) If the design is cool and not too busy they can look good.

I remember those blingy tees being huge around 2009 when we were in LA and they probably will take off here now as we catch on slowly I guess.
