I am going to buy a new press and I need to know if I will be making a huge mistake by buying a new Kruzer which is a six color four station. My manual is a Chaparral 6/6. I do not have room for an automatic. Sales are strong manually printing all our orders and I want to invest into brand new. My concern is that I am so used to using a 6/6 would a 6/4 slow down production? Should I invest in a new 6/6? Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

Just Curious, Do you use the all arms down capability of the chapparal? In other words do you ever set it up so you can have two people run the press? If not, then a 6-4 should do you just fine. Most printers don't realize the potential of two people on a press. Not quite auto speeds but with the right screen placement and printers you can almost double your current production speeds with an all arms down press.

That is a very good tip. I haven't thought of all arms down til now. With a 6/4 that won't happen. I use our 20'x22' garage and space is an issue so a second or third person printing on an all arms down job would be too challenging. We have never done two people printing at the same time. Your comment is very appreciated!

Here's a set up for a 4 color job. Screen Order is 1 - 3 - 2 - 4 The Loader print 1 and 2. Unloader prints 3 and 4. As the loader loads the shirt unloader prints color 3. Spin shirts. Then Loader prints 1 and unloader prints 4. spin screens. Unloader unloads while loader prints color 2. Both print 2 colors and the load and unload are about equal in time. I've timed this as faster than one person printing a 2 color job.
