plastisol lettering is different than vinyl. Plastisol is ink. Vinyl is cut and applied with a heat press.

What equipment do you have now?
I have a Lexmark all in one printer (model x4270), a computer, and a Hobby Lite 9x12 heat press. I am actually designing and making t-shirt transfers on my computer but I am ready to take it too the next level. I don't like the way the heat transfer lettering leaves a background on the material. I want to be able to create the lettering on a shirt or any material without a background. Any advise will be appreciated

You need a vinyl cutter and the software to run it. You will be able to do die cut decals and vinyl lettering and graphics for , signs, autos, trailers and heat applied materials for tees.

There is a cut and weed product that is ink based and similar to plastisol ink sold by Imprintables called Dura Cut. I think thats what its called. I have a friend that used some on his logo tees. I have some samples around here somewhere but havent tried it yet. The only thing you cant do with this product is do two color overlays. Single color designs only.

You can do two color overlays with products like Thermoflex or Spectra cut. These are heat applied vinyls for tees.

What is the cheapest vinyl cutter I can buy to get started making my own letters and signs. Will the vinyl cutter do logo and small print? does the software come with the cutter?
