Sup guys,

I just taught my self Illustrator in about 6 hours, and everything is going smoothly.

However, is there a way that I can make the endings of a line rounded instead of squared?

The only way that I have been making it round so far is using the offset path, but when zoom out from the image (say 88% or 66%) the lines have a "gray" shadow surrounding it.

Even at 100% the lines have a "gray" shadow surrounding it.

And since I saved the file with using the offset path option, is there anyway that I can undo the offset path option

ALSO, say if I were to send in the file to a screen printer, will that effect the outcome of my shirt? As in, it wouldn't look as crisp as if I were to zoom it in 600%? HAHA

Thanks guys.

6 Hours? I hate to break it to you but I've been using Illustrator for a couple years and I still have a ton to learn!

That said, select the segment you want to have rounded ends on then bring up your brushes palette (F5). Select a rounded brush then voila, you have rounded ends on your segment!

Hope that answers your question.

Haha, well I didn't say I learned EVERYTHING now!!!

Just the basic stuff, which is all I really needed to learn. Now it is just the small things that I have to learn to piece the whole design together for it to flow smoother now. The designs aren't as crazy / complex. Simple is what it really is. Simplicity is the key for me.

Thanks for your help!

Oh yea, forgot to ask,

Is there anyway I can undo the offset path? I saved the file dozens of times... and It would be a pain to go back and having to redo the curves and what not again!

I could be mistaken but I think you can simply open the appearance palette and delete/modify the offset path effect.

Outside of that .... you"ll have to find someone with a bit more knowledge along that line. The appearance palette is the end all be all for un-mucking previously made mistakes.
