Machine in repeated head cleaning mode?

1198 Views 6 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  IYFGraphics
Been printing a job with white only for several hours just fine, no issues..... then began setting up for a job without any white, hit Eject, Load & T3 did a head cleaning on its own. Now it will only do head cleanings, turn off, unplug everything, shut down software, turn all back on, still does only head cleanings. Does anyone know how to get out of this loop?

Thanks,
marti

I have the same problem. I haven't been able to mess with it. I would start checking the ribbon cables and fuses.
Thanks for your reply.

I kept looking around this site & found mention of American Screen Supply supporting Tjets. Their tech thinks that somehow we've shorted out the printhead ribbon cable. It may have gotten water (or ink) on it & shorted out the cable. We've ordered the cables (not expensive) & we'll see what happens when we replace them.

Yes.....please do let us know if that solves your problem, it may help others down the road.

Thanks....
Machine is finally up & running. What happened in simple terms: the printhead ribbons shorted, replaced with new ribbons...still didn't work, replaced the printhead because it was way too hot... that stopped the repeated head cleanings, but new printhead still wouldn't print.

Found that a fuse on the motherboard also shorted out, all of this was due to the printhead overheating. FYI: Watch your printhead, make sure it doesn't get too hot. Watch the area around the docking station, make sure no bubbles are forming that may make contact with the ribbons & cause a short. Hope this helps the rest of us. PS: the printhead was a teflon coated one, only 6 months old & when we took it out it still looked brand new....overheating? go figure.
