Hi All,
This is my first post on the Forums. Thanks for reading!
I purchased a ColDesi (DTG Digital) M2 a few months ago. I use it on a daily basis to print multi-color graphics and photos on shirts, and I keep it very clean.
The machine arrived with problems - ink would not reach the head(a damper was torn), the print head would not print (the main board was bad) and I kept receiving 'E084 Y2current' errors. I had several conversations with a helpful tech from ColDesi who mailed me new dampers and mailed new fuses in an attempt for me to fix the problem.
After no success, ColDesi sent the technician to us free of charge, and he replaced some parts and made the M2 work. Naturally, this used up 1/4 of the ink from every bottle, but I was just excited to have it running.
However, a few days later, I started receiving 'E084 Y2current' errors again. This brings the machine to a halt, and requires a power-off to reset it. It appears that the solenoid that holds the carriage in place is not pressing down the plastic "release" far enough, and then the motor tries to pull the carriage while it is still restrained. I do not want to tinker much with it, as I don't want to somehow void a warranty.
The machine prints nicely, but I am now receiving E084 Y2current errors on a daily basis, sometimes 3, 4, 5 times a day. Interestingly enough, I have only received this error during head cleanings and nozzle checks. I have yet to receive an error during a garment print (I do not see an obvious reason; this could be coincidence?).
I am concerned about this error; the manual does not offer much insight. I have emailed ColDesi shortly before making this post, but I also wanted to see if anyone on here has had this issue.
I don't want to "knock" on the M2. I like the way it prints, it is easy to maintain and I am happy with the regular functions of the machine. But, having a degree in software development, it really freaks me out that this machine's computer is a Frankensteined Mutoh RJ-9000x. It's quite obvious that it is still very "beta", considering the machine's normal function includes errors such as "cover open" and "no waste ink tank" when these errors are misleading and false. The machine also hangs and requires restart if the bed is not in a precise location during startup. This all leads me to believe that E084 Y2current is another integration issue that has not fully been resolved. It also makes me feel bad for less-patient customers who have a higher dependency on this machine than I currently do.
Has anyone else experienced the E084 Y2current error? Do you have any advice for me? It is much appreciated!
Thank You,
Carmine
