Looking at heat presses and one is described as having a "lower floating plate". What does this mean? What are the advantages or disadvantages of having one that floats?

Thanks!

This generally means that it will wobble slightly on a center support post. This allows the press to always seal with even pressure across the entire platen.

The center support post also makes it easier to mount the shirt (single layer) over the platen to press the second side of a shirt with a delicate transfer.

I hope this helps.
