So there's life behind bars. Should have known that 3 years ago. While opening shop on the first business day of the year, our lessor served us a Notice to Padlock. Instead of lowering our lease come January as he said is customary in his small "mall", the P18K lease was increased to P43k without any notice at all resulting to the supposed deposit deficiency which was the basis for the Notice to Padlock. The increase was non-negotiable. Lowered it to P25k only after we moved out. Later leased it to a competitor for P25k.

Anyway, prison art are more detailed than tribal arts. I'm not expert but I always think of graffiti, charcoal or pencil painting although some are full colored works. In some cases they are the same as the art we see in galleries(just made by prisoners).

Your right. Just seems like one of those things where if you don't know where to get it you probably shouldn't. Like if you get artwork with gang symbolism and you just throw it on a shirt not knowing. But just write to someone and tell them what your all about or find a friend or someone to visit.

I do not get the analogy between 'HippieGuy' and the desire to obtain prison art, but that being said, I tie-dye t-shirts and have been since the original 'Woodstock' days..

Anyway, I found several sites that act as go-betweens for outsiders and those within. Prisoners sell everything from art to web designs....much less than the open market.

What a world we live in..or don't

HippieGuy---I LOVE this answer. I just wanted to tell you that. And tie-dye is an artform in itself, especially when done by hand, and properly. Kudos to you! :p

Oh sorry. Didn't noticed "HippieGuy" is a username and sorry too for not recognizing you as the TS. If you are referring to original "woodstock", then some pictures of your tie-dyes would be nice.
