Hi everyone,

I am in the process of researching a DTG that will be used mostly to print on toddler clothing (t-shirts, shirts and leggings). However, I will also use it to print adult size t-shirts and I am hoping some fabric (I am expecting this to be a seasonal request). I've read a lot about print quality, maintenance, etc. but nothing specific to this. Could someone provide insight? Versatility is key here but also reliability and ease of use. Anything specific I should look for considering the use I will make of the printer?

I am new to this. All insight is appreciated. Thanks

DTG printing requires consistent volume every week to reduce ink issues. It also requires regular daily maintenance that can not be missed. You also want reasonable climate control 24/7 -- humidity, temperature, dust-free are all important.

On top of all of that, you should be handy with pulling things apart to do your own repairs in the event something does fail.

The new Epson F2000, which I have zero experience with, might be your best bet. Their support network & warranty *appears* to be the best, and they have a new maintenance system which allows you more downtime between printing days. But it's brand new, so there's zero actual reports on it.

Thanks Brian. As this would be a home based business I was hoping I could use a simple humidifier and a heater to better control the environment of the room the printer would be in. Should this be good enough to start with or fancier setups are needed from the get go? Also, I would print everyday but volumes could vary significantly from day to day. Do most printers require a ''minimum flow'' a day/week? Looking into CPSIA.
