Yep I was going to say the same thing, that is actually a low budget for a website. But the contest design websites might be able to do it for you.

Sunndays, so what kind of budget would you recommend for a good website. How much was yours?

That is low.. I am doing one for $2000 right now and I made them start with a template to stay in reason with a budget. Most people don't know how much time it takes.. they get the Easy Button idea in their head. I would see if you can work with someone that way. Catch me in PM if you have questions.

I just think that is so ridicouous, when you can have someone from another country that will work for a fraction of that cost.

Everything is relative. Those from that country would not be able to afford to buy your finished product either. Dollen could.

I Couldn't agree more.. and touché. For me it has to be worth the time I am not spending with my family. With 3 kids, 3 dogs, 3 cats and just the 1 wife.. you I doubt I could afford to buy it either.

I actually just used a site builder on that site, but have not had any problems from anyone accessing my site and making purchases. It was very low budget when I built it That was why I chose to build my own site instead of hiring someone. But I know that a good functional website designed specifically for you can cost around $2000 to $5000. Those were the pricesI got quoted from several people on my new site that I am making, for the things I wanted incorporated into it.

I was saying that Designers from India will charge a fraction of that. I think that is what is wrong with Americans, we want too much for little work. This is the very reason why jobs get shipped overseas. I am going to across the waters.

If I am having someone build my site from another country, does not mean I am looking for them to buy my product. I was talking about a web designer.

Personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with the budget.

You can get a VERY nice website for $1,000.

Now, if you want all the "bells and whistles", it's going to cost you more, but $1,000 is reasonable especially for the freelance sites.

Another one to check out is 99designs.com. You get people to bid and do the work, then you pick the one that works best for you.

Offering a guarantee of $1,000 will get you some quality work.
