Hi y'all
I've been a member here for almost a year and have found many answers to my questions by searching thru the threads.
I've been working with sign vinyl for a couple years now doing banners and vehicle graphics, and recently attempted to start doing my own Tshirts with not so great results.

I look forward to gaining some knowledge from everyone!

What problems did you have? Did you use a teflon sheet? Do you have Vinyl for t-shirts or use transfers?

I did use a teflon sheet. I bought Hotmark vinyl from Starline Pacific. Followed the directions (300-320 for 15-20 seconds, cold peel)
First problem is the stuff doesn't stick well. When I'm cold peeling it wants to peel off the shirt.
Second problem is after washing, the vinyl either lifts off or wrinkles.

I've tried 100% cotton and cotton blend tees.
I've pre pressed, and tried washing the tshirts first for shrinkage (no fabric softener) and it's always the same result.

I'm either missing something or this vinyl isn't all that great.

Jay. Please provide details so we can try to help you.
Pressure? Make sure to adjust it as different pressure is needed for different garments.
Eric is correct. You'll need to ask Starline Pacific what Pressure settings are needed per product.

We buy our Flex Pro from Beacon Graphics. It's a top brand vinyl for garments.

I also wouldn't wash the t-shirts before pressing. Pre-press 5 to 10 seconds using a pillow case.

I have tried different pressure. The Vinyl calls for "medium" pressure. I tried adjusting from light to clamped down as hard as possible and anywhere in between and it doesn't make a difference.

I've done a few plastisol transfers on the press and they came out great.
I bought a less expensive chinese made 15x15 clamshell style heat press off of an internet store.
I've checked for hot and cool spots with my IR temp gun and it's got some colder spots near the edge, but I've been careful to center the vinyl and keep it away from the edges.
