I just recently bought the little buddy for my first conveyor dryer. I have having trouble with curing. I turn the knob to 30 and it cracks when I stretch. When I turn it to 20 or lower it make the shirt a little hard. It seems like the shirt gets scorched if I turn it slower and it doesn’t get cured when I make it just a little faster. It even cracks a little with the scorched shirt. I just noticed that it is missing the gates on both ends. Would this make the difference. Is it possible to cure without these. I cure with a flash dryer without these problems.

The gates are to adjust temperature in the dryer and to help keep the temperature from changing due to drafts. I would suggest getting an infrared heat gun and measuring the temperature of the ink on the shirt as it goes through the dryer.

I have a Little Buddy dryer and I haven't noticed that the gates do much of anything. But I will say that you want to get a temperature control, which is an optional feature. Without it you need to set the belt speed so fast that the shirts don't have enough time inside the tunnel. With a temperature control you can slow the belt way down and give the shirts more than a minute inside the chamber so you can achieve a full cure without scorching. Also, as you send shirts through one after another the temperature will decrease and the temp control will let you adjust for that.

I have a temperature gun and it measure the temperature in the middle and it’s around 400. Coming out it drops fast, but as soon as it does it’s between 300 and 320. It just doesn’t seem to pass the stretch test, sometimes even when it’s scorched. I guess I need to get the temperature control.

What temperature does the shirt usually scorch at? When using the temp. gun in the middle it doesn’t get much higher than 400.
