lining up names on shirts

I have searched through the threads here and cannot find anything on the best method of making sure those names are straight and even spaced on T-shirts using pre-cut letters. I have never done this before and need to figure out a quick way. Please can someone help me? Thanks so very much Christina:confused:

Try the t square it,, that should do the trick

This is what I do not saying it's correct but it works for me.

Take a name VALERIE 7 letters so the E put dead center in the middle n then fill in the others accordingly. JOHN put OH dead center n do the same.
