Hey guys.

Can anyone recommend a laser printer to start with a budget of about £500 on a printer. I have heard Oki being talked about a lot of here but what model?

I recently purchased an Oki 610n. Very good buy for me. Cost little over 500.00 USD.

I would not use a Canon laser because every vendor of laser transfer paper at all trade shows I have been to use an Oki to demo their product.

Thanks guys. I purchased the Oki 511dn. had a hitch to start as the fuser blew but the company replaced it as the machine was under warranty.

Also duffed up the paper I had by putting it in wrong tray to start with and the forgetting to warm it up and not aligning it. Testing again tomorrow when more transfer paper arrives.

It's "more economical" than a laser. It really depends what you intend to do. For $180.00 you can get this Epson 7510 Epson WorkForce WF 7510 Inkjet All In One Printer Copier Scanner Fax by Office Depot - Inkjet that prints 13x19 and scans 11x17. Closest laser to that would be a C831n Oki for about $1600.00. It prints 11x17. You can shop around but for standard transfer printing (non - dyesub) the majority looks like Epson for inkjet and OKI for laser.

Okay guys I have the printer and it is working. Having some problems weeding. The instructions say 100 degrees for 20 seconds but that doesn't seem to be enough for the paper to stick.

I picked up my Oki 831n from Rakuten for a final price of about $1100 shipped.
No one else came close to that price. Compatible toner cartridges are not available
most places yet. I have yet to try it with transfers.They are on the way.The demo
print on plain paper looks great!
