Can anyone suggest a reasonable laser printer for transfers to hard surfaces (ceramic, glass, leather books, pu leather)? I was thinking of purchasing a OKI C332 or Ricoh C250.

Can't go wrong with the OKI line ..........
Keep in mind that laser print "scratches" fairly easily, though. My experience doing the product lines you're mentioning is that they look absolutely fantastic when initially printed but scratch very easily.
Sublimation avoids those issues completely ...............
