Largest size for pocket graphic

I'm getting ready to order some plastisol transfers to put on t-shirts, hoodies and possibly bags as well. These are shirts for our business to sell or give to clients. I personally prefer the front graphic to be centered and just the text of the business name and the back graphic to be a larger, more vivid graphic. Since the graphics will be applied at the time of purchase I'm guessing that some people might want the front graphic to be in the pocket area(no actual pocket on the tee), left chest is what I think is standard. So I'm wondering if I should have the smaller front graphic made to a size that can be placed there if the client would like.
So what would be a max size for adult tshirts. 5" x 5"? 6"x6"? Although ours will actually be more of a rectangle, so really just need to know the maximum width to look into.

for a left chest area design? I would say 3"x3". But it's more of a matter of taste.

Thanks all, I think 3.5 should be fine. I kind of like the idea of that small of a graphic centered, but should look fine left chest as well.
My standard has always been 3.25" wide. It allows my printers a slight allowance for the pocket pallet and it gives them some "Wiggle room".
