I use a breeze so I'm not sure on the power requirement but you don't need to run it everyday. everyday is optimal. But if your going to let it sit for an extended amount of time they have preservation fluid you can put in. I however have let my Breeze sit for one week with out being used. We had a huge blizzard that dumped 43 inches of snow in one storm last year and it latterly took them a week to get to plow the road the shop is on. But that whole time it just sat there unused. When we finally got back in I cleaned as usual and it worked fine.

Ask to see a nozzle test if everything is clear then no worries. If it doesn't clear up after some cleaning then you can try to flush the head and see if that works or just forget about it. Just remember a new head costs roughly $3,000. So if the price is right go for it you know.

we were looking at a used thunder back in the day too.

we inquired the following:
> how many prints are on it? when was it purchased? who purchased from?
> get the serial and verify numbers with kornit (they know how much ink they ordered etc.)
> ask kornit for: maintenance conducted; last visited; speak to technician who knows the machine; what upgrades did the machine get; when lastly changed heads etc.

if the machine was sitting for more than one week without having printed or properly prepared (leaving ink lines with ink and not cleaning solution) you can certainly replace the heads along with other wear parts. a kornit technician will need to look a the machine and refurbish it. costs certainly 20k.

in the end we purchased new machine.

just my 2cents :)

We just purchased a 931 Storm. Shipping can be rough on the machine...I hope your mechanically inclined. You have a DTG printer, so you know what to check for. The machine is industrial, so as long as you can problem solve, you will not have a problem. As far as power goes, the 932 is that last machine to take single phase power. All you need is 230/110 VAC, 50/60 Hz, 1 phase, W+N+PE or regular 220 here in the US. If you go with a double pallet machine, you will need 3 phase.
