The vast majority are based in NSW, with a few in VIC. Not many that I know of that are from WA I'm afraid

Has anyone looked into a process "automatic stencil printers" Upton Electrics in Ringwood North sell them and considering using this process if any has had good results with it

try these guys Absolute Promotional Products we bought 1000 oz spirit earth fit tshirts off them for a very reasonable price. i wont give exact prices but it was just under 7 bux with gst.

the oz spirit t-shirts are awesome quality, imo they crap all over most other brands available to us here american apparel, hanes, quality tops. check em out auspirit

we couldnt find a good fitted tee for less then 8-9 dollars without importing them and almost resorted to making a custom shirt before we found these

Sturdy, I'm dye sublimating my shirts too. I'm distributing Vapor Apparel in Australia - half of the range is actually poly that looks and feels exactly like cotton. The other half is micro-fibre. The range is made of high performance yarn and is a pleasure to print on. There're not really a wholesaler, more of a middle man. They get their t-shirts from several different wholesalers. If you can find them it will be far cheaper.

If you are going to use dye sublimation as your decorating method cotton t-shirts are not a suitable option. Sublimation only works well on synthetic fabrics - the higher 100% of polyester, the better/more vibrant print you will get. If you are printing on a blend with cotton - dye sublimation inks will only react with polyester and will wash off cotton (if you are after "vintage" washed-out look it may work for you).

The major questions, I suppose, you should ask yourself when comparing the fabrics - what is your target market and what is your decorating method.

Microfiber shirts/performance apparel/wicking t-shirts are generally used for sporting applications. Best decorating method for them is dye-sublimation because it doesn't impair wicking properties and gives you freedom of full colour designs.

There are moisture wicking polyester shirts that look and feel like cotton - they are great for any active wear and casual application and with dye-sub printing could be easily decorated with full colour over-sized fashionable graphics. Popular choice for printing of photo images.

If you are planning to use dye sublimation, keep in mind - you will not be able to use natural fabrics or dark coloured t-shirts.
Decorating methods for cotton are screen printing/placticol transfers, DTG, vinyl/flock applications and embroidery.

Hey guys, I realise this post is a little old but I just wanted to post this info for any other Aussies out there. I have started buying from Splash Alley, They seem quite good. Cheap shirts, quick to reply to emails and get the orders sent. My only gripe was the postage fee was a little high, but that didn't bother me too much (only $10 more than I expected)

Nice caps...Check out their site. They say they "Wholesale quality embroidery service out of :
Melbourne - Sydney - Brisbane - Perth" I'm not sure about where they keep their stocks from though. I am in Qld and my stocks got sent from Sydney. I got Gildan 2000's from them. Which is 100% cotton, but they have the Gildan blend which is 50/50 from what I understand. Just go check out their site for info.

They never stopped being Machine, but that's the printing arm (pre-dates Ounce); Ounce was their semi-separate wholesale t-shirts arm.

Their website and brand presentation has improved, hopefully they've brought up their customer service level to match that.
