Are the capping station & wiper asm the same for both Brands... Equipment Zone says theirs are now shipped as one assembly. Are theirs somehow permanently fixed together, or can they be installed seperately and now just sold together?

Re: Kiosk & T-jet

The capping assembly for the Kiosk and the T-Jet 1 and 2 are the same. The capping assembly for these printers consists of the capping station, the pump, and the 2 wipers. The components do come separately. What we have found over the years selling parts for and servicing these printers is that if you have a problem with one of the components you will have a problem shortly with the other component. Because of that we sell the components as an assembly and actually put them together here for the customer and ship it taped together as an assembly. The entire assembly is not that expensive and factor in your time taking apart the printer, installing the part, and then putting the printer back together. Getting the assembly put together is also helpful to the customer because there is a certain way you need to put the components together and if you don't do it correctly you will have a problem.

We're not trying to sell you more then you need. We just want you to have what we feel you need to get you up and printing. Please keep in mind that the entire capping assembly for the Kiosk and T-Jet 1 and 2 are wear items so we do suggest changing them out at least once or twice a year, depending on how heavily you're using the printer. Think of it a preventive maintenance, much as you would do an oil change on your car.

No problem, just making sure they were the same and it would work in a Kiosk.

Re: Kiosk & T-jet

This is the way we ship out the capping assembly:

We install the wipers on top of the pump and attach the capping station to the pump. We tape the assembly to hold the components together. When installing you unscrew and remove the old capping assembly, position the new assembly, and screw it to the printer. You then tear off the tape and remove the white shipping cap off the capping station.

Take careful note of where the screws are located when removing your assembly. A digital camera really helped me out my first time.
The tape is VERY USEFUL for installing these parts.
