Hi, all-

I've been looking at both the Kiosk II and the HM-1 and was told that both weigh about 70 pounds, but the DTG flyer I have says they both weigh about 100 pounds.

I'm wondering if I was told wrong or if perhaps the printers weigh 70 pounds and the platens, ink, etc add another 30 pounds and these items ship separately?

My understanding is these printers are UPSable, which should mean they are in the 70 pound range as UPS doesn't ship anything over that weight (or that used to be the case, anyway....)

...Not certain who told you they were UPS-able, but every one wehave ever seen UPS-ed was trashed when it arrived.
Ouch! What a shame that would be. I think it was an eBay auction that mentioned they could be sent via UPS.

When you say "live" weight, does that mean out of the box sitting on the table?

I'm just wondering because my DTG flyer says the Kiosk II weighs 105 lbs and the HM1 weighs 107 lbs. Of course the HM1 is a bit longer (9 inches) so I would expect it to be quite a bit heavier.

I think that wieght is probably pretty accurate for the HM1. I remember it being pretty heavy when lifting it onto the work stand when I got mine. It took two people to lift it :)

Roger that.

I've never really weighed one, they are definitely heavier (and more than 2 lbs more!), my gues is 10-20% more. The larger motor and mechanical lift mechanisms add a fair amount of weight.
