Good Morning lads,

I need a new printhead and was going to order one but was wondering if they can be easily changed? or if it is best left to the engineers to do?

If anyone has any instructions for replacing the k3 printhead then it would be greatly appreciated

Hey Scot ,
Move carriage to the centre then power off the machine at tge mains,remove all the dampers ,tou will see 4 screw in the head remove them all and lift the head up ,now before removing both ribbon cables take a quick pic so that you remember the correct way up they go back (there is a blue band on one side) be very careful reseating the cable ,hold it between thumb and forefinger and push firmly home...also becareful of the small metal clip on the bottom of carriage don't bend it ,and thats it ..screws back in then dampers and finally powerup

just took my print-head out tonight to do some maintenance work on so heres a quick update ,there are only 3 screws not 4 and before you can take off the ribbon cables you need to remove a thin square plastic piecer from the inside of the carriage,so very gently with your finger nail raise the front clip up until it releases and then do the same with the back one,when you come to putting it back again (on the inside) make sure that the ribbon cables are neatly positioned together,there should be a small plastic strip on the outside ribbon which rubs against the carriage then the second ribbon goes behind this one and finally the smallest of the three goes to the back ,then when they are all correctly folded together you should beable to fit them all through the plastic groove and fasten them back to the carriage with the same plastic piece ..
