Hi, there! We're excited to join this community to better understand the people and business behind creating comfortable, memorable t-shirts. We just launched our company, Darb Tees, with a focus on making humorous shirts for film, video game, and comic geeks everywhere! Hopefully, we will get to know all of you in our journey towards self-employment and creative fulfillment.

Hi Steve, welcome to the forum!
Wow, so did you get in with film companies/game companies, etc?
I'm guessing that licensing wasn't cheap !
You'll find lots of info and great folks here...enough for lots of brain overload !

Are you printing your own stuff or sub-contracting?

Yeah, the amount of information here is a bit overwhelming - but in a good way! We design all of our shirts, but have them screen printed through VG Kidz. So far, they seem to have a healthy balance between quality shirts and inexpensive prices. Right now, we're looking to join our fellow t-shirt designers/printers in figuring out the (sometimes kooky) world of running a small business. Our next step is going to involve figuring out how to get our shirts in some local comic book/video game stores, while hopefully finding some upcoming conventions we can attend.

Yeah, it can definitely be a brain overload...but yeah, like you said, in a good way. A very good way.
So, you're developing your own characters then?
I guess I was confused when you mentioned the games/movies/etc aspect.
Definitely do totally original stuff. Those companies pounce and sue big time (yikes $$$)

Can't wait to see some of your work!
Congrats!
