I just bought this printer. It was not very expensive.
But the previous owner said it has bee off for 2 - 3 months. He said the heads were soaking.

The ink is not going through the line. I have not tryed to do a cleaning, or anything.

I contacted a company here in Atlanta. They are going to charge me $350 to come out and asses my printer and clean the heads with the swab and solution. They will also tell me what all I need.
$240 for 1.5 hours service time
$100 for 1.5 travel time
$7.50 for Fluids / Swabs /gloves / clothe

Is this a good price. I believe I can do all this myself. But I am new to this printer. I am sure when I am up I will do most repairs myself. I own a Epson WF 7610. I have broke that printer down and power clean the heads a few times. Youtubes this SP Roland540v, It does not seem hard at all.

So should I pay for this tech this first time to be safe?

Also were do I buy inks, vinyl and everything here in Atlanta.

Any help will be appreciated. I have customers already. I need to start making this money back.

Thank you.

Congrats on the new printer!

I would have him go through it so you can ask any question you have, learn the maintenance schedule/procedures and just have the piece of mind of the condition. I completely agree with you in your other thread that even if you sink 1 or 2 thousand into it, you're still fine. Honestly, I have no idea if that's a good price for the tech to come out, but it all depends on if there is another Roland Tech that is in your area. Being that you're around Atlanta, I'm pretty sure there are several. I'm by Chicago, so I have no idea who is out your way, but a quick Google search should bring up a bunch of places. Your Roland Service Tech may even work for a company that sells the vinyl too.

Have some fun printing!

Well I had the tech come out. he soaked the heads. But I was getting pinch roll error so I couldn't do a test print.

I changed the flex cable myself fixed the problem. But now it read encoder error. Just ordered a new encoder and encoder module. There some in the box I got when I purchased the printer. I changed it but I think they were old used parts. The module didn't light up.

Wish me luck.... Oh and by the way. I dont need the tech anymore. Only for anything I feel is beyond. Or mostly for questions.

I just received a new linear encoder strip. Its about a inch to long.

Whats the best way to cut and reposition the hole? And what side should I cut?

Thank you. I need this fixed quick. Gotta make my money back ASAP.
