jpss-nature of the beast or cotton?

been using jpss more often and being new to this all ive been using is gildan 100% heavy cotton...pressing heavy @375 for 30 secs repress heavy 10-15 secs....they come out great! but! after i wash, inside out and cold, its like little stands or i call them fuzzies show, like the ink didnt "soak" thru and get every strand of the fabric.

so the question is, is it the 100% cotton? would using 50/50 blend take care of this "problem" or is this normal?or maybe its my settings(i print with cobra icc on presentation matte setting)

Do you stretch the shirts, in all directions, right after pressing, while they're still hot?

yes, seems every shirt i do after wash has the white "fuzzies"..like the ink didnt soak thru maybe..i was thinking the heavy cotton was too thick, i dunno
I've used Gildan Ultra Cotton and can't say I've had any problems. I set my printer to regular paper and high quality (one down from max quality). I set the press pressure as high as possible so I can only just close it. I stretch the shirt in all directions after pressing and peeling the paper off and then give it a 2nd press and then a 2nd stretch. Perhaps Gildan Heavy Cotton has more fuzz than Ultra?

im thinking the heavy cotton is the prob..im going to try the ultra and 50/50 to see..i also max out my swingman..to the point i think im going to break it
okay so i went back to my supply site and looked at the ultra(g200)6.0 oz..and im using the g500(5.3oz)...what is the dif? wouldnt the ultra have more fibers? confused again...its almost like i can take some beard trimmers after a wash to trim the fuzzies lol tell me please if they are called something else
I think the Ultra Cotton has a tighter weave and is ring spun which should give you a smoother surface to decorate.

I think I also read here somewhere that you don't want to use the highest printer setting, like BadZebedee mentions. You probably need to experiment a bit to see what settings work best for you.

Are you washing with fabric conditioner, and at what temperature do you wash? I'd suggest a test with no conditioner and a 40 deg C wash with the garment turned inside out.

ive experimented and highest quality on pres. matte seems to look the best after press..i could be totally wrong but i just dont see the logic in putting down less ink unless i was getting what i would think would be smudges or "ink migration?"..less ink=more fade in my mind but like i said could be wrong..the tight weave does however make total sense

no conditioner, cold, not warm or hot wash, inside out
I've been using these same products as you mentioned in my side business for 8 years without issue. Except, I press at 365 with heavy pressure, use a Teflon sheet on top, pull off the JPSS immediately, and then stretch and stretch in all directions.
I once in a while do a dud, give it to my wife for a sleep tee, so it gets no special attention in the washer or dryer, and it still holds up great.
I have found the Gildan tees you use to really hold up the best of all I have tried.
So, I am not sure what may be causing your issues other than maybe too much heat, not enough pressure?

you use the gildan g500? im only 10 degrees hotter and i max the swingman pressure out, like i need to hang on it to close it..maybe ill try a temp change but first im going to try the ultra cotton g200 because the tighter weave ring spun makes the most sense so far..wish the pictures worked so i could show yall
I was having the same issue! My print settings is plain paper high quality in 193 Celsius heavy pressure 24 seconds!
How I solve it?
Above you have the answer but it isn't noticeable!
You must peel IMMEDIATELY and then light stretching the T-shirt!
When I say IMMEDIATELY I mean IMMEDIATELY!
The first time you burn your fingers but after you will use to it!
Last the T-shirt that I use is also Gildan Heavy cotton

hmm, yeah i peel with a quickness..as soon as i pop the press i peel
like the ink didnt "soak" thru and get every strand of the fabric.
You do realize the ink does not soak into the fabric itself? The ink soaks into the paper, the paper bonds to the fabric.

yes thats why i put "soak" ...and this is another reason i donr get whats wrong like after i wash strands of the fabric are popping up white
so after much research(so much old stuff i dont trust)..the problem is called "pilling"? like the fibers are coming up thru the layer where the ink is...so now the ?s are is this a temp or too much pressure fix or more than likely i need to jpss on 50/50?
