Hey You Guys!!

i know im a complete and utter newbie ... but i need some help from you geniune nice t shirt designers...

basically .. i have this logo (as attached) ... and i was looking into having it printed on the front of a t shirt / hoodie .. so i contacted my local t shirt design shop and was told that a jpeg image would be rubbish, then i was offered that they would REDRAW the image, so it was a eps vector file for £25 .. im not being funny, but is that right.. ??? if so, harsh!! .. if not , then i hope one of you guys can point me in the right direction or say 'Hey kinger, ive already done it for you and its in your inbox' ... dreams can happen

My main question would be where did the image come from and can you get the original vector (if there was one)? It would be easier with a higher resolution copy and knowing the name of the font used in the middle (it looks like one of the Collegiate fonts) but that does sound like a price a shop would give when they don't really want to take the job.

Find out from the company what format it should be in and any other details they're going to need. You could probably get someone here to do it, if not for free, than for less than £25/$40. Post over in the referrals area. I'm at work right now and don't really have time to mess with it. However, I would also look into other companies, since like I said, it sounds more to me like they just don't want to do it... especially since it sounds like you're looking for one shirt. There may be someone else in your area who has a DTG (direct to garment) machine or transfers/heat press.

look at the flash ad at the top of this page. they offer raster to vector for $15. email is international so they can redo it and have it to you for what ten pounds? or are you using euros yet?

yeah the design is easy enough to redo but you'd need to get the font. if you had the font it could take less that ten minutes to do.

That logo is relatively simple to re create or vector. Why not send it to Vector Magic Precision Bitmap To Vector Conversion Online If you sign up...no charge...you can test their system with two files without charge. I would think they could do this and as I said....free for the first two...If you want to continue it is about $7.95 USD per month...for unlimited conversions

I just noticed you can upload large PDF's. This file is a Vector PDF that any designer or shop should be able to open and use.

FYI, it took about 15 min. BUT, as a freelancer I would charge $30 USD. As a print shop WITH an order for apparel, I wouldnt charge.

No worries man, Ive been helped out here many times and I dont mind paying it forward.
I also agree, this is the nicest, greatest and most knowledgeable forum Ive ever come across. I wish I had known about this forum years ago when I was stressed outta my head with printing and Tee shirt questions that I just overcame through trial and error.

Just be sure to pay it forward when you get the chance.

just don't start a mac vs. pc or an illustrator vs. coreldraw thread. those can get pretty bloody in here!!

what he csaluone did for you most wouldn't. most would show or teach you how to do it. but under your circumstances he did the right thing by you. tip a pint at the ol' pub tonite in csaluone's honor and start off a rousing version of "god save the queen'! cheers.

I'm a big believer in the whole pay it forward thing too. Well done.
