Jagged edges in vector shape [please help]

I am using illustrator for four years and never faced this problem. recently i setup my windows and install illustrator.

I have noticed the vector shapes have jagged edges when rotate in slide angle (see the attached image). The option anti-aliased in in the preference-> general in checked!

I don't know what to do. Please help. I am working on a print project. I wonder if the artwork will look jagged when printed? Theoretically it is not possible vector having jagged edges. Is it onlly the display problem? Although if i save the artwork in jpeg the problem i still remains :(

Waiting for your help soon. Regards!

Why dont you try printing it out and see if it's still jagged? It is possible that it's got something to do with the monitor/video card. The only time I have ever seen this is when something was raster. Often times there are either filters or effects that are applied that make the image a raster, could this be possible?

This is happening WITHIN Illustrator right? You are not exporting to other programs via Illustrator or importing into Illustrator from another program?

Maybe with a little more info we can help

Thanks for your reply. I am not exporting anything the shapes are pure vector drown in Illustrator CS3 and i did not use any effect. It is visible when it makes small angle to horizontal or vertical as in the image.
Looks to me like you've applied an effect directly to a layer possibly to achieve the multiple strokes shown on the art. It tends to look like that but prints normally.

Check your monitor refresh rate. Then check in your preferences that "anti-alias" is checked.

"anti-alias" is checked. How do i change the monitor refresh rate?

If this is a display problem how do it get into the jpeg?
Have you tried printing it out yet? If it prints fine, then no real biggie. Try adjusting resolution and monitor refresh, look it up on google if you dont know how. If none of that works, try reinstalling.

Is the resolution high enough? If not, depending on the size of the image, jagged edges will show.
Vector is not resolution dependent, thats why it's vector. ;)
I believe it is your preview mode causing this. Make sure you dont have pixel preview turned on under the "View" toolbar
Images are defined in pixels so I don't think display resolution or refresh rates are the cause. They could contribute to an exaggerate jagged edge (or to a finer and smoother jagged line) but I believe only 100% vertical or 100% horizontal lines will be free of those stair steps.

They're something like "moire" and the proper angle seems to be 0, 90, 180, 270 & 360.
Yeah it is just a display problem. Monitors can only do so well when it comes to vector images unless you are using a HD monitor. This will happen a lot when you rotate an image sometimes.

If you want, you can send me the file and I can check it out to be doubly sure, but I am almost positive that it is just a display issue.
Also, under "View", make sure "Pixel Preview" isn't checked.
