Hi all, another newbie question. My press has a teflon coated plate. I'm using JPSS and was wondering if I should also be using parchment too. I understand it can protect the plate. Does using it enhance the finish? Or can I just press directly to the back of the JPSS paper?

Your thoughts as always are greatly appreciated.

Better Safe than sorry. I found it a good habit to get in to. Helps from getting burn marks around the transfer if your settings are high.
Thanks. will it adversely effect the transfer of the image to the shirt though? The reason I'm confused is that the instructions provided with my JPSS paper didn't mention this parchment paper.
With the 3G opaque instructions it does mention using the parchment.

Here is what use..http://colmanandcompany.com/static_store/DTGRPAPER.html now it says its for DTG but we use it for heat transfers to and you can get at least 60 uses from one sheet.

Now just because you have a Teflon plate doesn't mean you don't have to protect. Wouldn't you rather have a heat transfer melt and stick to something you can just throw away?

especially for vinyl transfers..

I always use a teflon sheet for pressing either vinyl or JPSS. I also use it for post pressing. With the JPSS, the post press with the teflon takes away that grainy feeling
