is my blade worn out?

I just cut some vinyl up and can't get to remove the excess vinyl out. The blade didn't cut deep enough. I have a gcc expert 24 and have had it for about 5 months and have cut quite a bit, do the blades wear out that quick?

Depends on the material your cutting OR there is a little white plastic strip on most plotters. If you have miss-aligned your vinyl enough times your blade with chew that strip up causeing your blade to dull and also won't cut your vinyl but more or less preferate it making it hard to weed.

Another thing to check is your pressure your cutting at or speed. I'm nit sure exactly what plotter you have but those would be my guesses.
They can do, if you use them a lot.
Maybe even as little as a month depending on use.

done that many times:(
also been through about 30+yards of vinyl already
Ok 2 ways to fix that so you never do it again ( jk it will still happen just not very frequent).

When you load it from the back with one hand hold the vinyl firmly where you want it. Then with your other hand make sure this is no slack in your roll of vinyl at all and since it's setting on the rollers 9 times out of ten it will be straight.

Another way some plotters allow you to feed the material forward or backwards while it's clamped down. If you have this option let it roll out about 2 or 3 feet and if you see it starting to come out from under the clamped down roller release it and try again till it's straight
