I've never tried a heat press but I'm now ordering one online.

I'm stuck between a heat press with drawer with a 43 degrees opening angle VS. a standard heat press with a 38 degrees opening angle.

The one with drawer is more expensive and I'm just wondering if its worth the money and if I will be using the drawer at all. Is it very hot when loading the heat press, and do people find the drawer beneficial?

A 38 degree opening isn't very much of an opening. In addition to the risk of burning yourself, you won't have very much room to ensure your transfer is aligned properly. The press with the drawer would be a good option because you will be able to pull the drawer out and you should have plenty of room to look at your garment and transfer to make sure it's straight, while avoiding the heat from the upper platen.

38 seems about right for a clamshell.

On the drawer one, does the drawer comes out completely away from the upper platen??

If it does slide out completely, I would rather have that than a clamshell. It's difficult utilizing the back area of the lower platen on a clam.

What's the difference in cost?

Well that's all I needed to make up my mind. Agreed with what you said.

It slides out a few inches, enough to make more room in the back. Video here.

The difference is about $200 lol, so it's no much.

Thank you both for your input, ordering the heat press with drawer then. :)

Just be careful from ordering from an overseas company. Unless they have some support and service stateside, I would pass and buy from someone who does.
You get what you pay for.

Not trying to bash this specific company because I don't know them. But there have been issues with cold spots and electrical on some Chinese products. Shipping a 100 pound package back to China for repairs can't be cheap.

Agreed. However I spent a lot of time researching multiple companies overseas, ended up with Fuijan Xinhong and Microtec, and then at the end chose Fuijan for their slightly better pricing.

Both of the companies looked professional with good customer service and warranties (1 year on everything, 5 years on castings, welds and heating plate, life-time on technical support). If I run into any problems I'll make sure to let you guys know. ;)
