I am still very new to droids but find the ice cream sandwich too expensive. Froyo and gingerbreads are a little "affordable" but in the face of Jelly Bean 5.0 and Lime Pie 6.0 are they outdated or legacy versions like windows 3x? Or will they still be OK like the XP still is? Is there a "minumum" version one should start with?

TIA and I'd be more comfortable hearing from my TSF family.

PS. I am referring to mobile phones.

I am not really sure about the froyo and gingerbread pecking order...I know some droid devices are still shipping with honeycomb but the latest...I think...is Ice Cream Sandwich OS and a couple newer ones on the way. ICS just is coming out on the newest ASUS transformer 300T tablet...which I just weakened and parked the iPad to buy the transformer....mainly left iPad because of lack of Flash support...

Honeycomb droids here are still a little expensive. Froyo and gingerbread are a little common. By expensive I refer to a month's minimum pay.

I'm still googling for info every now and then. Also trying to determine the minimum processor specs. Also looking at what apps are available. Things are changing rather fast making one wonder if a startrek hologram phone is around the corner.
