A friend of mine is closing down his shop. I would sub the work out to him but now I'm thinking of buying some of his machines. He offered me this package for $12,500

2 Rototex 8 Color / 4 Pallet
2 Rototex Flash Dryers
1 Nuarc Tri-Light ST 52x60" 6000W Metal Halid Shuttered Vacuum Unit
1 Compressor
30+ screens, pre-coated, various mesh counts
Whatever Ink he has leftover (Alot)
A few other things he is throwing is as well

My other option is to buy a package from Ryonet for the same price range. I was only planning on buying 1 press and a start exposure unit but it seems like this is a one in a lifetime type of deal. Please help as I need to give him a answer by tomorrow. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if this should be a new topic or not, so forgive me....I've also considered buying a press and maybe a flash dryer used. I was curious about the longevity of these things, such as the moving parts on the press....as for the dryer, do they only have so many hours in them? I hope this makes sense...I guess I'm asking if it's common and worth it to buy these things used?

Offer him 8000 and even that is a bit high. Advance/American made great units in the day.

If he won't part the shop out, and the presses aren't trashed, sell one press and a flash and buy yourself a conveyor dryer. Also, make sure the presses have micros. For what it's worth, my kid works in a shop on a Rototex press and he says it's great, easy to set up and holds registration throughout the job.

Let's look at this logically. Who else is going to buy this stuff? There are no friends in business; just relationships in the moment.

He would be damn lucky to get 5 grand now that I think more about it. What the *uck are pre coated screens? Like what, put'em in a garbage bag so they don't see the sun? This guy you are trying to cut a deal with is full of *hit. He is not a friend.

I mean come on. Shipping costs if it's not local! That's a schwang right there. Further the quip is at best 1992.

So 30 screens after all that time? I have to wonder.

You can buy a used 6 color auto with a flash for 12 G's. Another 2 G's for a M & R 30" Maxi-Cure and then another 5 G's for a full blown small commercial shop. So 20 G's for simple power or 5 G's for heartache and so-so product.

Call Beacon Funding for a lease/loan dollar buy out... and and remember this: THERE IS NO PRODUCTION WITHOUT SALES!!! (I hope she's cute)
