Just come to renew my insurance premium, and the company ( Axa ) now want me to have all equipment bolted to the floor, or I'm not covered for break in. They mean everything - screen printing press ( it won't fit through the door in one piece! ) conveyor, plotter, printers, heat presses etc. Kind of a ball ache, since some of it is on wheels to move around and for access.

Anyone got a recommendation for a full insurance package? I'm looking for employers and public liability, as well as fire and contents.

That sounds crazy! Luckily our contents are covered by the landlords insurance within the complex. But for Public Liability etc. we use these: Simply Business - UK's biggest business insurance broker | specialising in public liability, professional indemnity and landlord insurance

It is crazy. The policy says 'all printing equipment must be secured to the fabric of the premises with a locking plate'. They won't define a specification for the locking plate, so straight away you are looking at a reason not to pay out!
A chain and ground anchor that is suitable to secure a £12K Motorbike, parked outdoors, is apparently not suitable to secure a £7K press behind steel doors and 5 lever mortice locks!

I'm thinking of calling out the RAC to install a tracker on the press.
