Hello,
"I am not sure about going with no name china press"
I'm sure! Avoid the problems and headaches and stay away from this option.

"Insta model 221 for $500"
I just saw an Insta on Craig's List that said it had about 50 hours of use. Maybe that was true but when I called the factory, they said it was 20 years old and only a few spare parts were available. I would call Insta and ask about replacement parts for that particular model. You would be throwing $500 away if say, the thermostat went (as they always do in the older, manual machines) and you couldn't get the part.

If you could stretch to $675, you could buy a Hix Swingman 15. It's a 15" swing away press and has no digital controls. However, it's heavy duty, made by one of the best companies around, very reliable, excellent tech support, and will have a solid warranty.

In my opinion, if you can't buy quality, don't buy at all. Keep saving your $$ until you can afford it.
