I have changed the setting on the ink volume from 10 down to 8/7 on a few t-shirts. This does lower the amount of ink used, so can be handy if you are running low on ink or want to save on the ink cost for large prints. However, when I put the printed t on setting 10 and the printed t on setting 7 side by side i can't really see the difference. My worry/question is, will lowering the ink setting make the ink fade quicker after washing a few times or is this not a problem.
Thanks

I was told by my distributer that it doesn't really lower costs much but it will effect how the design stands up when washed. I have found that the only time I mess with ink volume is when printing on denim or other materials where the ink does not absorb as well as on a shirt. I will use a 3 or 4 for denim and 10 for most everything else.

I was also told, and believe from my own tests, that the "vivid" setting is pretty much useless.

You're trying to save a few penny's and it will cost you dollars. Your key to success is repeat customers so why would you cut the ink back. If Brother thought the seven setting was best they'd have set that as the high point.
