Hi, I am new to DTG printing. I used to screen print shirts back in the eighties but now would like to get into DTG. I am currently in the process of purchasing a f2000. What I would like to know if anyone has ever calculated how much the ink would cost to print per square inch when doing different combinations for white, light and dark color shirts?

I ask this as I am trying to figure out how to price jobs by just looking at the design and size the customer wants. I know that the price of these inks are very expensive and want to be able to price my items accordingly and not to lose money on jobs.

Thanks for reading my post.

Once you get your machine, it will tell you the cost of ink for a particular job. From there, after some prints, you'll be able to come up with your average cost per square inch.

The problem is, the machine uses ink for head cleanings, and other maintenance. So to get your true cost, I'm thinking you would need to go through a set of ink, then average your cost based on total square inches printed.
