We did some white tshirts with black ink using brother GT361.
I got a call from the customer that after he washed the tshirt the ink /image faded .

Why did this happen? image was full black ink.
Process used - white tshirt next level 3600 cotton not pretreated.
Did the print with 1200dpi.
Heat pressed after printing.

Any recommendations appreciated.

Thank you all for your support.

You cannot print t shirts with normal printer ink. To make it fast and not wash out in the washing machine you need to use pigment inks not dye inks. Also I reccommend yolo soft stretch heat transfer paper for white light colored T shirts, that gives you a very soft feel to the T shirt print.
Good Luck.

YOLO heat transfer? haha. It sounds like that would wash only once.

As for the Brother prints on white shirts, it does fade with every wash.

I tell my customers that it fades with every wash because it's water based inks and that they need to hand wash and hang dry if they want it to last. Sorry, but that's one thing I didn't like about the GT-3 inks.

The samples I tested from GTX seems to be better. Still fades tiny bit but better than GT-3.

What temperature did you use? If I were you, I'd try turning up the heat on the heat press. You'll probably find that your heat press isn't calibrated correctly. Try printing one t-shirt and washing after 24 hours.

If it still fades, raise up the heat another 10 degrees and after 24 hours wash it.

I'm sure your GT-361 uses Pigment ink. Unless you replaced the ink with Dye ink. Sounds like you did not heat press it with the right temperature though.

Ok - I do not use transfer method.
I am talking about DTG printed shirts - using brother GT361 machine which uses pigmented dye ink.

I used white 3600 next level cotton tshirts.
ALL black ink.
After printing heat pressed at 355 degrees for 20 sec.

Customer indicates Ink faded after washing in cold water once.

Askadi623, when curing GT inks via a heat press, the correct time and temperature is 356 for 35 seconds with light pressure. If you’re located within the US or Canada and this didn't resolve your issue, please give us a 877-4Brother or contact your original dealer if outside these areas.

What about using a tunel/s Rene printing conveyor dryer, better or worse and how do you configure the settings?

Try printing and washing 1 yourself. Customers can be crazy, ask me how I know!
