im using ink from brother and its 208.00 a cartridge is the a ink out there that is compatable with the 541 thats safe to use and what is the draw backs from using other brads of ink?

Why don't you use the Brother 500 cc cartridge?
Same ink, compatible with the GT-541, and less expensive:
1 cc = $0.72 instead of $1.04.
