Hello there,
Glad to have found this community!
This is my first post.

I've searched around here and cannot seem to find some simple initial set-up steps. (I've only been able to find post about specific colour problem being troubleshooted, or problems with a specific colour profile downloaded/installed?)

Purchased a Mug sublimation Start-up kit (printer, sub inks, heat press paper etc.) to print on mugs.

I'm all set up now and printer is working, heat press seems functional.

I want to get going! But I'm aware that the colour settings on my printer / computer wont cut it as is. (as a test print on the transfer paper has confirmed)

The company that I purchased from is proving to be no help at all.

Is there a step by step guide to set up the correct configuration for color management? I have no "colour profile" or no supplied file to install, as I've seen mentioned in posts.

EPSON C88+ printer - Printing on sublimation trafer paper to press onto Ceramic mugs.

Thanks in advance!

You need to ask around for someone to make you a custom color profile but it will cost you.

I would just find a place that provides a color profile with their inks. You can try using Cobra Ink, unless you purchased too much ink initially and don't want to waste it.

Just in case you run into more road blocks and don't want to hassle with it.... https://www.cobraink.com/profiles/

You will need to press the print onto a mug to test the color. Dye sub inks look different printed on transfer paper then they do after they have been presses to the substrate ( your mug in this case). If you still dont have good color as said above find someone who will make one for you.

Good luck!

Yes the prints always look washed out, you can get a pretty good idea what they will look like as a test by putting the print between two pieces of copy paper and pressing that for ten seconds or so, that gets it gassing and looking more like the final print on a substrate.
