Hello all!

My shop has been using a vinyl cutter more and more often for heat press transfers - however, with the cutter we are limited to 1 or 2 color designs.

As our transfer business is growing, we are now evaluating methods for us to print our own "unlimited color" transfers in-house. So far, we have looked at the OKI White Toner printers in conjunction with a transparent transfer paper.

Are any of you currently printing your own transfers? If so, what product(s) are you using? What would you recommend?

Any input is great!

Cheers!

I apologize for the formatting errors as this is my first post! It is shown below without the errors :):)

For one offs: Solvent inkjet printing on white vinyl.
For 30+ copies: Solvent inkjet printing on PET film with white screen-printed backing.

Laser printer transfers are not flexible, and will crack after 15-20 washes.

If it is the same design over and over then screen printed transfers would be a good option for you.
If they are going to be mostly one off's then a solvent printer would be a good option with a stand alone cutter or combo printer/cutter.
Dye sub would be perfect for you, if your doing mostly white shirts or very light colors.

Not a fan of the laser printer transfers. We dont find them to hold up well as not really liking the hand (feel) of it. We had one and our clients were not happy with them.
