Hello everyone,...

I have been thinking of using car images for some of my T-Shirts, but I am not sure as to what I'm allowed to do as far as permissions go. The cars are from the 60s, 70s,...anything up to the current year. I have taken the photographs myself (at car shows), so the photos belong to me (I also modify the images in Photoshop to make them look like artwork); Yet, the cars are clearly associated with certain auto makers (GM, Ford, etc.). Am I allowed to sell T-shirts with these sort of images, or do I need to obtain permission from the specific auto manufacturers? The last thing I want to do is get into legal trouble. Any advice would be deeply appreciated.
Thanks for your time.

I wouldn't worry about the car makers unless you are using some of their promo images. You are using self captured images so you should be OK. It might be prudent to ask permission of the owner of the car. He will probably be thrilled and may want a shirt or two. Oscar
