Image photos on black tees

I'm currently outsourcing the printing of my shirts to a local supplier that has a DTG branded machine ( not sure which however ). In most cases images look great but skin tones on black shirts look very red ( a white undercoat is applied ). Does anyone know what could be causing this and how to fix it?
Cheers

Thats a question that you need to ask your outsourcer about as they can tweak the colours before printing and should know what their limitations are for their machine.

Thanks for that. However, it is they themselves that are having the trouble. They tell me that they have tried everything that they can think of so I thought I'd just ask here on the forum.

ok, if that happened in our shop, the first thing I would be doing is editing the image in Photoshop and removing some red from the highlights (using color balance), or selective color remove red from yellows (there are many different ways to do these so use whatever works for you). It may be something you could do before you give them the print files as you know how it "should" look.
It was commen in the Kiosk 2 for the skin tones to have too much Magenta in them as commneted on above it can be fixed by editing the images to get a better result. The profile used in the rip program on the printer is not correct for the ink or media being used and causes colour to not be correct and skin tones have always been a problem with some of the earlier machines and incase the newer ones as well whit the wrong profile settings.
Thanks for the advice guys!
