a customer sent me their logo and asked me to creat something with it. so i did. when i print the film out for it the part i made in illustrator is perfect since it is vector but their logo has very very rough edges and it doesnt print completely black like everything else. why would this be? here is their logo

Is the logo part they provided you vector? I'm thinking it's not vector since it's jagged on the edge. You need to ask for a higher resolution or vector logo if thats the case. Or recreate it in vector. As for the color, make sure it's actually black, sounds like it's probably not a true black. Look at you color values to make sure.

If its coming out as a halftone then its not a true 100% black. Open your info pallet in PS and hover over it with your mouse. If your K is not 100% it will print out whatever percentage of dot that it shows. You can go to your curves and make it 100% black then try printing it out. Should fix your problem with it halftoning.

Recreating that is tough I tried. Couldn't find the font or the arrow they used
The font is Benguiat.
Just add a couple of triangles top/bottom of "I" an your done.
